30-Jun-23: 'Supreme Court upholds disqualification sentences of referendum leaders'
The Spanish Supreme Court has rejected appeals by some of the independence referendum leaders and confirmed their disqualification penalties. Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont denied urging the former interior minister, Miquel Buch, to hire a policeman to act as his security escort while he was in Belgium, during the trial against Buch today.Barcelona will open 277 heatwave shelters this summer for residents to refresh in.
