Deposed Catalan president Carles Puigdemont is currently in a Neumünster court, in Germany, Catalan News has confirmed. Puigdemont, who spent the night in prison in the same town, is to testify before the judge, who will decide whether he remains in custody or is conditionally allowed to go free while a high court decides on whether to extradite him to Spain.

Puigdemont was detained by German police on Sunday morning after the Spanish judiciary reactivated a European arrest warrant for the Catalan leader, who is wanted in Spain charged with the crimes of rebellion and misuse of funds. A delegation of the Junts per Catalunya (JxCat) party is in Germany to provide support for Puigdemont.
