Barcelona (FCB).- Barça’s first team kit for 2013/14 will include the traditional blue and claret stripes in a modern design which sees the stripes peter off on the sleeves. The away kit is based on the Catalan ‘senyera’ flag. The shorts are blue, whilst the socks have a thin yellow line at the top and a modern design echoing the shirt sleeves below that. Qatar Airways replaces The Qatar Foundation and is shown on the shirt's front side as Barça's main sponsor. In addition, UNICEF continues to be shown on the shirt's back.

In addition, the new main shirt features the senyera on the yellow collar. The flag is also for the first time ever completely integrated in the shirt – featuring on the back, inside and outside, as well as on the edges from side to side, The Club motto - ‘Més que un Club’ (which translates as ‘More than a Club’) – also appears on the rear of the neck.

The ‘senyera’, the catalan flag, dominates away kit for 2013/14

For the first time in its history, FC Barcelona will be wearing an away kit based on the red and yellow of the Catalan flag – the ‘senyera’. The shirt has a round neck, with red markings and echoes the design of the first team kit, bit with red and yellow stripes and with the stripes petering out on the sleeves. FC Barcelona’s motto - ‘Més que un Club- also appears on the back of the collar. The away strip shorts are red with a thin yellow line down either side, like the sock, which include a red line around the top and with a similar effect below that to the shirt design.

Lighter than earlier versions

Nike kits continue to be manufactured using their revolutionary technique with recycled polyester - reflecting the company’s commitment to creating sporting goods which have as little harmful effect on the environment as possible. A set of shirt and shorts are manufactured using a maximum of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

The kits are made from material which means they weigh no more than 150 grams and are 23% lighter than previous Nike kits. They are also 20% stronger and are considerably more flexible. The materials used also have the Nike Dri.Fit technology which eliminates sweat and allows the player to stay cool and dry.

Both the first team and away kits have a more athletic and dynamic fit thanks to the innovative programme led by Nike of scanning the bodies of some of the world’s best players to produce a design better fitted to their anatomy.
