Tello extends contract with FC Barcelona to 2016

Cristian Tello has extended his contract with FC Barcelona until June 2016. The release clause has been fixed at €10 million. Tello, born in Greater Barcelona, is a product of the Catalan club’s school and youth system. He debuted with Barça’s first team in November 2011 and from 2002 and 2007 he played in the club’s youth ranks.

Barcelona (FCB).- Cristian Tello has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona to extend his current deal with the Catalan club until 30th June 2016. The release clause has been fixed at €10 million. The Catalan player, born in Sabadell (Greater Barcelona), is a product of La Masia, Barça's football school. The two sides will officially seal the deal on Monday 17th  December at the club’s offices in the Camp Nou.


A product of the youth system

Tello made his way through the youth ranks of FC Barcelona from 2002 to 2007 and also enjoyed a spell with Damm and two seasons with Espanyol. He returned to the Barça reserves in the summer of 2010 and has gradually carved out a place for himself in the senior squad since then.

He made his Barça’s first team debut against Hospitalet in the Spanish Cup on 8th November 2011, scoring two goals. His Spanish League debut came a few weeks after that away to Villarreal on 28th January 2012 and just a week later he got his first league goal against Real Sociedad.
