The Catalan Mossos d’Esquadra police are currently investigating 14 nightclub needle attacks in Catalonia, 11 of them in the seaside town of Lloret de Mar, and three in Barcelona.

In the northern Costa Brava town, the first attack was reported on July 10. Since then, several others have been reported, but chemical substances have not been found in any of the blood tests. Women who quickly reported the surprise needle attacks to police were able to give blood that has been analyzed for any substances.

This is why police recommend reporting the attack as soon as possible to avoid losing any criminal evidence.

So far, police have not been able to link any of the attacks with cases of aggression or sexual abuse. In all cases, victims are young party-goers aged between 18 and 25 years. One of the victims is a man, while the rest are all women, making it more difficult to find a single motive.

One of the victims in Barcelona took to social media to explain her case. She and her friend started feeling sick after noticing that they had been injected with something and went to the bar to ask for help.

The Catalan law enforcement agents have been in touch with French officials to share information as hundreds of cases have been reported in the neighboring country.
