The Spanish government has updated its list of high-risk countries from which a negative PCR test will be required from travelers in order to enter Spain between December 28 and January 10.

Kuwait has been dropped from this list of countries but travelers coming from Bermuda, the Isle of Man, and Israel will now be asked to demonstrate they do not have Covid-19.

Since November 23, passengers traveling to Spain by air or sea from certain areas where Covid-19 is prevalent must provide proof of having tested negative within 72 hours prior to their arrival.

European Union and European Economic Area countries are designated as 'high risk' in accordance with guidelines found in Council Recommendation (EU) 2020/1475, which take into account the ECDC's color-coded Covid-19 maps of European regions, while for third countries this is determined by 14-day case counts per 100,000 inhabitants that are over 150. These figures are reviewed every 15 days.

Earlier this week, Spain announced its decision to ban travel from the United Kingdom starting on December 22, only allowing Spanish citizens or residents to return, after the prime minister Boris Johnson alerted other countries of the existence of a highly contagious Covid-19 strain in Britain.
