Barcelona (CNA).- The brand Sita Murt showed that, despite the recent death of renowned designer Sita Murt, they are still able to present a remarkable collection and will continue her work with exclusive designs for women, sold throughout the world. The collection presented women’s trends for the Fall/Winter season 2015/2016. The catwalk took place in the Catalan capital’s Maritime Museum, which is hosting the 15th edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week. Isabel Esteve Murt, head designer of the brand, stated that she is implementing Sita Murt’s way of adding details. Isabel is Sita Murt’s daughter and has taken her mother’s place by taking over control of the brand. She claimed in an interview that the collection had a British influence that could be seen in the shoes, trousers and colours. The designer also added that they had used natural colours such as olive green with a combination of bronze and golden tones.

Sita Murt’s collection revolved around a masculine look with a touch of sexiness. Knitwear such as coats, sweaters and trousers were presented as the brand rediscovered knitting details in dresses and skirts. The brand had also worked with special fabrics that show contrasting designs and included combinations between different volumes and materials. Colours that will dominate this year’s outfits and were included in Sita Murt’s collection at the 080 Fashion Week included mixed beige, elegant grey, natural khaki and electric blue.

The brand has become a major player with shops in Spain located in cities such as Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Reus, Girona, Manresa and Sant Cugat and collections sold in multi-brand retailers in North America, South America, Western Europe and the Middle East, as well as in countries such as Russia, China, Japan and Australia.

Catalan pride in fashion

This year’s collection at the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week was the first one without Sita Murt herself. After her sudden death on 1st December 2014 after an intense battle with cancer, the brand has continued without her. Still, the brand continues to make her proud, influenced as it is by her energy and the experience she left to her children to help them become successful in their own right.

The brand has been presented at several fairs – both local and international. Sita Murt started to show collections at the Gaudí show in Barcelona and then at the Pasarela Cibeles in Madrid. Internationally, the brand has been presented at Bread & Butter Barcelona, Premium (Berlin), Gallery (Copenhagen), Coterie (New York) and Modafabriek, Who’s Next and Paris sur Mode (Paris).

Stream of celebrities

Sita Murt’s fashion show became a meeting point for celebrities from both Spain and Catalonia. Stars from all fields and well-known women appeared close to the catwalk such as Spanish swimmer Ona Carbonell and famous actress Ùrsula Corberó. The popular Catalan actor and director Joel Joan also attended with his girlfriend, Anna Sahun.
