The pandemic may have put tourism and many cultural activities on hold, but the show must go on!

Catalonia has four monuments competing for ticketing platform Tiqets' 2020 Global Remarkable Venue Awards: Barcelona's Sagrada Família, Camp Nou and Casa Vicens, as well as Figueres' Dalí Museum.

Tiqets first selects the winners of the Remarkable Venue Awards in a number of categories from France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, the UK, and Ireland, and the US, who are given a €5,000 marketing package, and then museum- and attraction-goers from around the world vote on the Global prize winners.

Gaudí's modernist cathedral in the Catalan capital won Spain's prize in the category of Most Remarkable Venue, while the FC Barcelona stadium won Best Attraction Venue, Gaudí's Casa Vicens won Best Landmark Venue, and the Dalí Museum was recognized as Best Museum Venue.

The awards were established by the Dutch ticketing company in 2017, with annual ceremonies taking place in Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, New York, Paris, and Rome, although the pandemic forced the 2020 events online.
