Barcelona (CNA) .- From Monday the 28th through Wednesday the 30th of June, the Barcelona Trade Fair in Montjuïc will be hosting the 3rd edition of the urban and contemporary fashion show ‘The Brandery’, which substitutes the previous Barcelona fashion showcase ‘Bread & Butter’, hosted now in Berlin. No less than 215 brands, including well-known Catalan trademarks such as Custo Barcelona, Munich, Sita Murt, and Armand Basi, will be showcasing their goods to the 17,000 professionals expected to attend the event. According to the director of ‘The Brandery’, Pere Camprubí, the show is already a “reference in Southern Europe” because of its “different and interesting” offer.

The economic crisis has not proved to be a drawback for ‘The Brandery’. In fact, many exhibitors think it is a “wonderful launch pad” to make themselves known. Albert Pecanins considers that the show allows for greater “proximity with the customer”, a very important factor in the current economic crisis. Pecanins added that while international fairs are fine to “get some ideas”, ‘The Brandery’ is a suitable exhibition to get some business done.

'The Brandery' includes an important range of offers. One of the most original companies has been the Catalan firm Virtualtwo because of its virtual fitting room. This technology, already installed in many shopping centres, allows customers to try clothes on in a virtual way by using any device that connects to the Internet, where in customers can try on any product of any brand at home.

'The Brandery' has also scheduled several recreational and cultural activities associated with the fashion world. Among the most remarkable ones, there is the Misi Misi exposition, where artists, creators and designers specialized in fashion, design, photography and tattoo, have personalized more than 30 “maneki-neko” (lucky cats). In this edition, ‘The Brandery’ will also be carrying out activities in some representative places within the city. The exhibition of Vogue posters, that is now on exhibition in the Rambla de Catalunya, is one of the most important of these events
