The FC Barcelona football team and PortAventura World, the largest amusement park in Catalonia, will work together on developing and designing new entertainment projects, starting with creating themed experiences at the future Espai Barça in Spotify Camp Nou stadium, set to open in November 2024.

The idea is to study how to create a new entertainment experience that could complement the new museum and tell the history and impact of FC Barcelona as well as highlight the relationship the team has with the Catalan capital.

Creating international projects will be a key part of the new partnership. The two organizations will look into opening indoor entertainment spaces between 500 and 2,000 m2 with different themed attractions, catering services and merchandising outlets.

The football team and theme park have also expressed interest in opening larger-scale amusement parks of over seven hectares that would include attractions, restaurants, shops, museums and shows, all under the FC Barcelona brand.

According to Juli Guiu, Vice President of the FC Barcelona Marketing Area: “This partnership with PortAventura World is part of FC Barcelona's strategic project to explore new ways of generating resources within the entertainment industry.”

This collaboration, says Arturo Mas-Sardá, President of PortAventura World’s administrative board, will “provide visitors with unforgettable experiences that combine fun and passion for sport.”

PortAventura World is located in Tarragona, a 30-minute train ride south of Barcelona, and had 5.2 million visitors in 2022.
