Madrid (ACN).- A total of 1,945,856 foreign tourists visited Catalonia during last July, which represents a 5.1% increase compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade. The main nationalities coming to Catalonia are Dutch, Swiss and Belgian, which compensate for the fall in the number of French tourists, who were traditionally the key market. Those figures once again put Catalonia on top of Spain’s tourist destinations, consolidating its leadership within this industry. 26% of all foreign tourists coming to Spain go to Catalonia. Looking at the entire year, almost 8 million international tourists have visited Catalonia between January and July, which represents a 4.1% increase compared to the previous year.
