Barcelona (ACN).- Bizbarcelona is a new trade fair for entrepreneurs to be held on June 15th and 16th in the Catalan capital. It aims to boost the creation of business and company growth. Entrepreneurs can find financing, advice, creativity and innovation in the Fira de Barcelona, the Montjuïc exhibition centre. The fair is expecting 12,000 entrepreneurs, innovators and investors.

The exhibits and contents of Bizbarcelona are dedicated to enable people who want to start a business or make their company grow to find innovative solutions, inspiration, support, advice and mainly financing. There are workshops, conferences and meetings between entrepreneurs.

Only two weeks after the JCI European Conference was held in Tarragona aimed at young entrepreneurs from around the world, people who want to create a company or develop a project now have the opportunity to find ideas in Barcelona. Conferences with advice on how to plan an adequate commercial strategy and a viable company plan will be held and experts and organisations will offer personalised advice on legal company status, financing and business plans. The 25 best business plans will compete to win the financing they need to develop their project. Only the best three will receive a prize.

Some of the investors taking part in the event are Carlos Domingo, from Telefónica R&D; Mark Harris, from Intel; Stefan Heuser, from Siemens; Martin Kelly, from IBM; Stephen Seuntjens, from Philips and Alexandre Massart, from VISA. Risk capital funds such as Nauta Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield&Byers, Alta partners, Flagship Ventures and Sandhill Angels will also participate.

Barcelona is a very important city in the field of business enterprise. This year Barcelona Activa, a municipal company which promotes quality and future oriented employment and businesses, won the Jury’s Grand Prize at the European Commission’s Enterprise Awards. The prize acknowledged Barcelona Activa’s innovative support to entrepreneurship and the fact that it has helped create 6,214 new businesses and 11,800 new jobs.
