More than 10,000 people got together on a cloudy Sunday morning in Barcelona, near the Montjuïc Magic Fountains, to run the 2023 'La Mercè' race.

This year, for the first time, there were three different tracks for those willing to do some sport, such as the already traditional 10-kilometer race, the 2K Bimbo Global Race, and the newest addition for those born between 2007 and 2011, the Bimbo Global Race Youth Mercè race.

The 45th edition of the race is part of the 2023 local festivities in the Catalan capital, which will fully start on Friday 22 with several activities. 2023 marks the "most sport-focused La Mercè."

In the male category, Mohamed El Ghazouany won with a mark of 29:20 minutes, followed by Nan Oliveras (29:55) and Xavier Badia Garcia (30:17). On the other hand, Douae Ouboukir El Oihabi with 34:47 won the female category. Laura Rodriguez Botella (35:15) came second, and Cristina Silva Feliu (35:23) third.
