Barcelona (FCB).- Andoni Zubizarreta presented the new organisation chart of the ??FC Barcelona Football Section, with the main features being the creation of the new position of Director of the Sports Football Section, who will manage the whole structure of football at Barça. It will be Zubizarreta who will fill this position, leaving his position as Director of Professional Football. He will also be responsible for the Youth Football section, and other related areas. A new Cross-Sectional Area has been created to strengthen and improve talent. The club has reorganised the entire football section, confirming the main directors and managers and fostering the talent improvement. Barça is not only famous for winning the European Champions League or the Spanish Super Cup; it is also famous for the way it plays football and for producing its own stars through La Masía, FC Barcelona’s football school.

Three major areas

Barça’s ??Professional Football section will be coordinated by Narcís Juliá, and like last season will include the First Team, Barça B, and Junior A. In the presentation, changes to the reserve team  (Barça B) coaching staff were mentioned, with the arrival of Eusebio Sacristán as Manager. Also mentioned was the incorporation of Pep Muñoz, as assistant to Oscar Garcia, replacing Quique Alvarez, who will train the Cadet A team.

In the area of ??youth football (from Pre-Benjamin to Junior B), Guillermo Amor is still the Director and Albert Puig, the Coordinator. The Technical Secretariat will still be headed by Albert Valentín. Finally, Xavier Llorens will run the Women's Football section.

New cross-sectional area

Within this new organisation, a new cross-sectional area has been created, which consists of three sub-areas, working closely with all football teams within FC Barcelona. The objective, according to Zubizarreta is that "footballing concepts are not discussed, they are developed".

In this way an area has been created to gather, analyse, and improve the working methods of FC Barcelona. This area will be run by Joan Vilà, and coordinated by Victor Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Pere Gratacós, until now director of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper (FC Barcelona training facilities), now becomes Director of Sports Relations Section. Attention will be devoted to institutional sporting commitments, positioning within sporting organisms, and the identification of collaborators for the project.

Finally, the Goalkeeping Section has been created, headed by Juan Carlos Unzué and coordinated by Ricard Segarra. The objective is to specialise and define the style of play of the Barça goalkeepers, and keep an eye on its development.
