A key suspect in the Barcelona terrorist attack, named as Moussa Oukabir (17), was among the five alleged terrorists killed by police in Cambrils. Oukabir was believed to be driving the van that hit pedestrians in la Rambla, although this has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

The head of the Catalan police confirmed that they have identified the five men killed in the coastal town on Thursday evening, hours after the Barcelona attack. Agents had earlier released pictures of Oukabir and three other young people as suspects in the investigation: Said Aallaa, Mohamed Hychami and Younes Abouyaaqoub, of between 17 and 24 years old. Aallaa (18) and Hychami (24) were also killed by police in Cambrils, while Abouyaaqoub is still on the run. The identities of the two other dead have not been revealed yet.

Meanwhile, police have four people in custody in relation to la Rambla attack. The last detention was in the northern town of Ripoll. The Catalan home affairs minister, Joaquim Forn, announced this morning that a third person had been arrested in the same town. Oukabir and two dead suspects were also living in the area.
