Two flood alerts sent to phones in southern coastal municipalities
Torrential rain expected in Montsià and between Alcanar and Salou

Civil Protection authorities have issued two flood alerts to phones in Montsià area, and between Alcanar and Salou, on Sunday evening warning of a high risk of floods in the southern coast.
Torrential rain was expected in the area, and the public is warned not to approach ravines, streams, or rivers, in case they burst their banks.
Nearby Tortosa and Roquetes, in Baix Ebre, were also been sent such messages on phones in the first alert.

During the evening, one section of AP-7 highway (between Ulldecona and Freginals) was flooded and access blocked. Some other roads were also blocked, as well as train service in the area.
Authorities had issued the flood alert –but without sending texts to phones– in the southern Ebre river delta counties for Saturday and Sunday morning, when the weather situation was expected to ease.
However, conditions worsened on Sunday afternoon. At 6 pm, Mas de Barberans (Baix Ebre) had already recorded nearly 200 mm during the weekend, and the Ports Natural Park, over 120 mm.
