Barcelona public cycling scheme Bicing to expand to 11 neighborhoods

Number of electric bikes set to be doubled, with 97 new stations all over the city

Barcelona's public cycling scheme for residents, Bicing, is set to become available in another 11 of the Catalan capital's neighborhoods, which will be served with 22 bike stations.

Bicing has also announced that it will double the number of electric bikes people using the service can get around with and will set up a total of 97 new bike stations, 75 of which will be located in the areas where there is currently the highest demand.

When this service enhancement, Barcelona is set to have 519 bike stations and a total of 7,000 shareable bikes, with 2,000 of them being electric.
