Exiled former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont is continuing with his mission to spread the word abroad about Catalonia’s bid for independence. Puigdemont will give a talk on politics in Europe in Amsterdam on October 2, as part of the 'Sign of the Times' series of debates.

Under the title, 'Mad as Hell,' the former president’s talk will take place in the Internationaal Theater in Amsterdam at 8.30pm, according to the website of the De Balie cultural centre, which is in charge of organizing the event.

A few weeks before the talk, the head of the JxCat candidacy will publish the book 'The Catalan Crisis, an Opportunity for Europe'. Written with journalist Olivier Mouton, from the Vif-L’Express news magazine, the book will come out in English, French and Dutch.

The series of debates in Amsterdam will tackle current social and political issues, such as Brexit or the Donald Trump presidency in the US. In his talk, which takes place a day after the first anniversary of the independence referendum, Puigdemont will give his views on the "rage" in Europe today.
