Lluïsa Moret, the mayor of Sant Boi, a town near Barcelona, was elected the new president of Barcelona's Diputació, the regional authority.

The Socialist Party came to an agreement with Comuns and Tot per Terrassa, the main local party in Terrassa, a city in the Vallès county area outside of Barcelona, and two independent Junts mayors from Igualada and Torrelles del Foix.

Although the Socialist did not come to an agreement with ERC in Barcelona, they did in two other Regional Governments, or Diputacions, Lleida and Tarragona.

Two ERC politicians will preside over each Regional Authority, forming a government together with PSC.

Pro-independence parties ERC and Junts are only ruling together in the Girona regional government, continuing with the cabinet that was established four years ago. Junts' Miquel Noguer, the mayor of Banyoles, will preside over the Diputació, and ERC's Pau Presas, the mayor of Cassà de la Selva, will be the vice-president.

Catalonia has four regional governments, one according to each province: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.

These governments include every town hall of each region,  offering services to every city and village, as well as the cohesion of every town hall in the area.

It is formed by mayors and councilors, and it gives technical and economic support to each town hall so that the quality of the local services offered are homogeneous across the territory.
