Spain's equality minister Irene Montero has tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, for which her partner and second vice president, Pablo Iglesias, is now in quarantine.

The other Spanish cabinet members will be tested for covid-19 Thursday morning and will officially announce their results in the evening.

As for the cabinet meeting that is due to take place midday, only the ministers that are considered "essential" for approving the government's action plan in response to the crisis will be there.

Spanish president Pedro Sánchez will hold a press conference after the cabinet meeting, but it will only be streamed online and journalists will have to send in their questions.
