'Dream of a lifetime,' say ticket sellers after selling millions worth of Christmas lottery prizes
Catalonia sees over €12.5 million in winning tickets spread across several municipalities

Selling a prize like this was the "dream of a lifetime," and she celebrated the feat by opening bottles of Cava sparkling wine.
Lorena Espinosa, owner of Badalona's 35 lotto ticket store, named El Petit Dimoni, was overwhelmed on Monday morning. Her shop sold 10 series of the Christmas lottery's fourth prize: 78477, awarded €200,000 per series.
She said that the number "77 likes a lot," which is why it was quickly sold during the summer, as soon as Christmas lottery tickets went on sale.
"It was sold in July, and for sure, many residents of the neighborhood bought the ticket," she told media outlets.
She confessed that she was in shock, as selling a prized ticket is what all lotto ticket store owners "always dream of."
Each series consists of 10 décimos, one-tenth of a ticket, and each décimo costs €20.
In Olot's lotto ticket store, they distributed €200,000 of the same fourth prize. However, none of the winners went to the shop to celebrate their winning number.
Alfredo Alfaro, owner of the store, said that they have sold three winning tickets in the last seven years. "We are very happy, for a shop to sell a winning ticket is like winning the Gordo (the Fat One)," he told the Catalan News Agency (ACN).
In 2018, they sold part of the first prize, and in 2022, part of the second prize.
Catalonia saw over €12.5 million in winning tickets spread across several municipalities, despite that the first prize, the Gordo or Fat One 79432, did not have any impact in the territory.
The most awarded municipality has been Sant Boi de Llobregat, where they distributed 15 series of the third prize, 90693, totaling €7.5 million. There was also a series of the fourth prize, the 25508, totalling €200,000.
The third prize also left a winning series in El Prat de Llobregat, and one more in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, totaling €500,000 each.
There were also several winning tickets across other cities and municipalities, such as Barcelona, Olot, Sort, and Arenys de Mar.
