Saint Etienne to substitute Björk at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival

The Icelandic singer had cancelled her Saturday concert due to health reasons. Björk headlined Saturday’s programme, and the organisation offered the return of the tickets for that day to those requesting it. This year’s Primavera Sound Festival has showcases starting on Monday May 28th and outdoor concerts starting on Wednesday at the Arc de Triomf venue. However, the core festival, being held at the Forum, kicks off on Thursday May 31st and runs until Saturday June 2nd.

Barcelona (ACN).- After Björk announced she was cancelling her concert for health reasons, the Primavera Sound organisers have informed festival goers that Saint Etienne will be her substitute. The English band was meant to play on Wednesday May 30th, but they have now been moved to Saturday June 2nd to substitute the Icelandic artist at the Parc del Fòrum venue, where the main festival takes place. The North-American band The Walkmen will be the substitutes of Saint Etienne on May 30th, in their concert at the open-air Arc de Triomf venue. Furthermore, the organisation has released the official timetable of the concerts planned.

The Primavera Sound Festival, sponsored by San Miguel, will run in the Catalan capital from Thursday May 31st to Saturday June 2nd, at the Fòrum venue. The festival will open and close with a series of free outdoor concerts at the Arc del Triomf venue on May 30th and June 3rd. It will be the first time these additional concerts take place. Furthermore, from Monday May 28th, several showcases are taking place at Barcelona’s Apolo club.
