Catalan artists Figa Flawas and Triquell will make their first international performance in London on May 5. The show will take place at the club Scala in King's Cross from 7pm to 11pm, with tickets priced at £20.50.

Music group Figa Flawas have recently become very popular, thanks in part to their 2022 bachata hit 'Mussegu'. Hailing from Valls, home of the calçot, the artists have just released their new album 'Calçotada', a fusion of hip-hop, reggaeton, EDM, salsa and rumba.

Singer Triquell, known for his appearance on the music program Eufòria on Catalan public broadcaster TV3, will perform at the start of the evening. The Barcelona-based artist released his debut album 'Entre fluids' in 2023.

After the great success of the Tyets and Julieta concert in December, the Catalan-British music producer Bona Gents has decided to organize this event and another one later in the year.

Oriol Vidal and Benet Aragay, the founders of Bona Gents, told Catalan News that they realized there was a gap in activities in Catalan for a "younger audience" in London.

Their aim is "to help a young British audience better understand Catalonia, our traditions, our culture and our language".

"In the United Kingdom, Spain is seen as one thing, and Catalonia is not very well understood," they say. On the other hand, "the Barcelona brand is very strong and could even be stronger than the Spanish brand," adds Aragay.

So they decided to build Bona Gents on the reputation of the Catalonia and Barcelona brands, with the aim of "somehow embracing the nation of Catalonia and our traditional cultures."

There are currently around 30,000 Catalans and 200,000 Spaniards living in the UK.
