The number of unemployed people in Catalonia went up in November by 2,915 compared to the previous month, according to figures released on Tuesday by Spain's labor ministry.

However, the increase is the lowest rise in the number of people out of work in a November since 2015, the last time that the total dropped in that month.

Still, it is the fifth month in a row that the number of jobseekers has gone up, with the total number of people unemployed at 390,182, some 4,223 fewer than 12 months ago.

Most of the losses were in the service sector, with almost 5,000 more people looking for work. The other sectors also saw losses, including agriculture, construction, and industry.

Meanwhile, the number of people without a job went up by 20,525 in Spain as a whole, with the jobless total remaining above three million (3,198,184).
