Unemployment in Catalonia fell for the fifth straight month in July, with 408,314 people without a job representing a 13% decrease from last year.

Within a month, the number of people registered in social services as looking for a job fell by 37,548, 8.42% less, according to Spain’s Ministry of Work.

Despite the spread of the Delta variant and the reintroduction of lockdown measures to curb coronavirus contagion, the job market added 30,540 new jobs in July.
