Viladecavalls (ACN).- The Catalan multinational company Ficosa, specialised in manufacturing car components, will exclusively supply Renault-Nissan with automatic gearboxes for their new vehicles targeting the middle-class market. The automatic shift systems will be installed in all Renault and Nissan mid-range vehicles for the European, North-American (NAFTA), South-American (Mercosur) and Asian markets, according to Ficosa’s announcement released this week. The agreement foresees a sales volume of 45 million euros. Xavier Pujol, Ficosa’s CEO, considers the news a “clear proof of trust” by Renault-Nissan in the company he leads. Pujol stressed that the announcement “fits with the company’s objective to focus on innovation and growing in high-growth geographical areas”.

Ficosa has developed, produced and sold car components since 1949. The company is based in Greater Barcelona, in Viladecavalls, and it employs around 8,000 people worldwide. Ficosa has facilities in 19 different countries in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
