Employment figures continue to break records constantly, ending the month of April with 3,764,170 workers, an increase of 0.89% compared to March —33,089 people—, according to data shared by the Spanish labor and social economies ministry on Monday.

Compared to 2023, April 2024 closed with 88,440 workers more, 2.41%.

The new figure sets a new all-time high, surpassing July 2023's data, when 3.75 million people were registered in the employment scheme.

Meanwhile, unemployment continued to decrease, with 337,070 jobseekers, a drop of 7,359 people compared to March 2024 —a 2.14% drop compared to the previous month, or 0.52% less on data from April 2023—.

Catalonia registered an increase in workers for the third consecutive month after the drop of 34,911 recorded in January.

April 2024, as opposed to last year's, was not heavily impacted by Easter Week, which was mainly during March.

Overall, 21,101,505 workers were registered in Spain, setting a new record. There were 199,538 new workers compared to March and 486,516 more compared to April 2023.

Unemployment figures in Spain continue to drop and have reached the lowest number since September 2008, with 2,660,500 jobseekers.
