Isabel Celáa: “Triggering Article 155 now would go against the Constitution”

The Spanish government has dismissed a motion passed by the regional parliament of Extremadura on Friday calling for the application of Article 155 to impose direct rule on Catalonia: "Triggering Article 155 now would go against the Spanish constitution. It would be a usurpation of Catalonia’s self-rule," said the government spokesperson, Isabel Celáa. "Nobody who has really thought about it would call for the application of Article 155 under the current circumstances."
