Catalonia: Europe's hash entry point

Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police detect an increase in the trafficking of hashish, making it the most-exported drug to Europe. Over 40 tonnes have been confiscated since 2018, with the drug coming into Catalonia via the coast or AP-7 highway. In 2023 alone, over 900 people were detained, and the police pressure in southern Spain has pushed drug dealers to find alternative routes.
