Rolling Stones logo to appear on FC Barcelona's next clásico shirt
Sponsorship deal with Spotify previously had Rosalía and Drake emblems on jerseys
FC Barcelona will wear the Rolling Stones' iconic logo on the front of their jersey in the next clásico clash with Real Madrid, on October 28.
The Catalan club's sponsorship deal with Spotify allows the use of artists' emblems on shirts for special occasions, and the blaugrana have previously featured Rosalía and Drake logos on their jerseys before.
The Rolling Stones have been chosen as the next musical feature on the Barça shirt because their latest album, 'Hackney Diamonds', will be released on Friday. This will be the group's first new album featuring new songs since 2005.
The special edition jersey will also be worn by Barça Femení in their Lige F meeting with Sevilla in the Estadi Johan Cruyff next November 5.
Only 1,899 replica shirts with the Rolling Stones logo will go on sale on Monday, October 23, representing the year of the club's foundation in 1899.
However, an additional 22 jerseys, signed by the starting XIs of the men's and women's games, will also go on sale.
"We are huge football fans and are grateful that Spotify has brought our tongue and lips logo to the Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones' new album, 'Hackney Diamonds'," a quote attributed to the band from a club statement says.
