FC Barcelona Women's team has won another title this season, rounding up an almost all-victory season after beating Atlético Madrid 2-0 on Saturday night at Spain's Queen's Cup competition (Copa de la Reina).

Claudia Pina scored both goals, one at each part of the match, and led the team coached by Pere Romeu to raise its 11th Queen's Cup trophy.

The victory at El Alcoraz stadium in Huesca, Aragón, is the 11th in the competition and rounds off a campaign in which Barça knocked out Tenerife, Madrid CFF and Real Madrid on their way to the final.

Saturday's victory is the second in a row and their 10th title in the last 15 seasons. The culés have won in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024. The first ever victory for Barça Women back in 1993/94. The blaugranes lead the way in women's football with 11 titles, ahead of Levante and Espanyol, who both have six.

The trophy is another to add to the collection this season after Barça have claimed the Spanish Super Cup and the league title. It is the second time the Club has achieved a domestic treble and the second in the last two seasons - the only negative of the campaign has been the defeat in the final of the Champions League against Arsenal FC (1-0).

The match took place a few days after Spain won against England to compete at the UEFA Women's Nations League final, also thanks to Catalan footballer Clàudia Pina.

First double treble

FC Barcelona have set a record by winning the domestic treble of Liga, Copa and Supercopa not just once but twice in the same season, both the male and the women's teams.

This is the first time Barça have done it, and also the first time any team has done it.

In fact, the 'just' winning the men's and women's league and club double would have been a first-time achievement in itself.

Both teams also came frustratingly close to adding the European title to their list of conquests. The men were within minutes of reaching the final against Inter Milan before it all went horribly wrong, while the women made it to their own final but ended up suffering a defeat to Arsenal.
