Barça Femení win 10th league title in 0-9 rout
Men's team have one hand on La Liga trophy after 4-3 clásico thriller

Barça Femení have claimed their 10th league title with a 0-9 rout of Real Betis on Sunday.
The title win is their 6th consecutive crown, which, along with their 10 in total, is a record for the Spanish women's football league.
Heading into the day's action with a four-point advantage over Real Madrid, who played at the same time as Barcelona, and only two games left to play, the blaugrana knew that a victory in Andalusia would seal the trophy for them for another year.

Pere Romeu's charges got the party started early with two goals in the first six minutes.
A dominant victory caps off what has been the most closely-contested women's league in Spain in years, as Barça have, in truth, been head-and-shoulders above the competition for a long time. The league was won with a 6-point differential over second place, a gap that could be as short as 3 or as long as 9, depending on what happens in the last round of fixtures.
Last season, the Catalans took the title with a 15-point difference over second place, while in seasons before that it was 10 points, 24 points, 25 points, and 9 points in the first of this run of six consecutive league wins.
This title comes from hard work day in, day out," Alexia Putellas, Barça Femení captain, told club media. "You start in September and finish now in May, it's not about just one match or a tie, but rather many games every week, staying at the top, maintaining your level, even raising it, and surpassing yourself."
"We’re very happy that we've done it again, of having achieved a new title, the 6th consecutive one and the 10th in total for the club," the two-time Balon d'Or winner added.
Men's team one step closer

The Barça men's team took a giant step towards claiming the La Liga title on Sunday as well with a helter-skelter 4-3 win over Real Madrid.
The thrill-a-minute encounter at Montjuïc saw Real Madrid race to an early 0-2 lead before Hansi Flick's charges made it 4-2 before half time.

The relentless pace didn't let up in the second half even though the goals largely dried up, and the Catalans won the game by the solitary strike.
Barcelona now have the chance to seal the league title midweek with a trip to local rivals Espanyol, where Barça won the league two years ago and were chased off the pitch by Espanyol fans as they were celebrating.
However, if Real Madrid drop points at home to Mallorca 24 hours earlier, then the Catalan derby will be little more than a formality, as the league will have already been mathematically sealed.
