Barcelona (FCB).- Fifteen days after the successful operation on his parotid gland, which kept him away from activity for the last couple of weeks, Barça’s Assistant Manager, Tito Vilanova, returned to lead a training session, alongside Pep Guardiola. His return to normal activity was received with great happiness by the whole team. Vilanova met with Barça players in the dressing room before the start of the session. Once on the pitch, Guardiola’s assistant received an emotional welcome by the players. Hugs, smiles, applause ... this was the welcome that the squad gave to Tito Vilanova. Probably one of the most significant photos was the hug between Vilanova and Eric Abidal, the player who was operated on last season to remove a tumour from his liver.

Adriano given the all clear

Under the watchful eyes of Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova, the whole Barça first team, with only Ibrahim Afellay absent, trained, already thinking about the next match, “El Clásico” against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Adriano worked with his team mates and once the session was over he received the medical all clear. The players who played against BATE Borissov worked at the same pace as the rest. The session also included young reserve players Isaac Cuenca, Muniesa, and Soriano.

Thursday, a rest day

FC Barcelona’s first team will have a day off on Thursday and will return to training on Friday afternoon, at 18.00, behind closed doors, at the Camp Nou. They will prepare the crucial Spanish League match against Real Madrid, scheduled on Saturday evening. Following the session, Guardiola will attend the media at a press conference.
