Barça confirms next UEFA Champions League game against Olympiacos at Olympic Stadium
FC Barcelona's Spotify Camp Nou still under refurbishment with administrative permits to return pending
FC Barcelona has confirmed that the next UEFA Champions League game, the third match of the group stage, against Olympiacos, will be played at Barcelona’s Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
The announcement comes a few days after the governing body listed the Spotify Camp Nou as a potential venue to host the match, although sources told Catalan News that there was nothing confirmed at that time.
The club wrote in a statement that it “continues to work to obtain the necessary administrative permits for the opening of the Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium is under refurbishment and there is no return date set as the city council is still supervising the construction. The club is now “working on the new amendments” that local authorities requested “last week.”
In the statement, Barça said that it “would like to thank its members and supporters for their understanding and support during the complex and exciting process of the return to the new Spotify Camp Nou.”
The game is scheduled for October 21 and while it was expected to be already played at the club’s home stadium, it has been confirmed the return will take several more weeks.
The club has been rushing to make the necessary adjustments for the stadium to be greenlit by the city council for the next La Liga home game on October 18 against Girona.
In an interview with RAC1 radio this week, deputy mayor Albert Batlle said he was "optimistic" that the club would complete the "necessary amendments" in time to receive approval before that game.
However, on the La Liga website, the match against Girona still appears as "to be determined."
Barça's next home La Liga game (after Girona) is against Elche CF on November 2, while the next home Champions League match will not take place until December 9 against Eintracht Frankfurt.
