UEFA suggests Barça vs Olympiacos on October 21 could be played at Camp Nou
Despite no official confirmation, Barça is confident that the city council will allow the renovated stadium to host the game against Girona FC on October 18

UEFA has suggested Spotify Camp Nou as the venue for the Barça - Olympiacos Champions League match on October 21.
According to the governing body’s official website, the game is expected to be played in the renovated stadium.
However, UEFA told Catalan News that the venue for the game has not yet been confirmed. If approved, it would be the first Champions League match held at Camp Nou.
This week, Barça will face PSG at home, a game long rumored to take place at the new Camp Nou, but it will instead be held at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

But despite UEFA's website indicating otherwise, the game still requires a crucial condition: permission from the city council’s technicians.
The club is rushing to make the necessary adjustments for the stadium to be greenlit by the city council for the next La Liga home game on October 18 against Girona.
In an interview with RAC1 radio this week, deputy mayor Albert Batlle said he was "optimistic" that the club would complete the "necessary amendments" in time to receive approval before that game.
However, on the La Liga website, the match against Girona still appears as "to be determined."

If permission is not granted before the Girona FC game, the Olympiacos match would likely not take place at Camp Nou.
Previously, UEFA stated that a La Liga match must be played at the stadium before it can host a Champions League fixture, which would rule out the October 21 option.
Barça's next home La Liga game is against Elche CF on November 2, while the next home Champions League match would not take place until December 9 against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Curiously, the La Liga website lists the game against Elche CF as taking place at Camp Nou, while UEFA’s website also shows the stadium as the venue for that match.
