Sitges wrapped up another Carnival with the 'Extermination Parade' on Tuesday night, bringing more than 2,000 participants and 38 floats to the streets.

Showers of confetti, high-energy choreography and sparkling, colorful costumes underscored the success of one of the main highlights of the festival, which the city council estimates drew more than 200,000 visitors during Carnival week.

The turnout came despite strong winds on Thursday that delayed the 'L'Arribo' celebrations that kicks off the carnival, rain on Friday, and uncertainty among visitors from outside the town over the reliability of Rodalies commuter trains.
