The Residue Agency of Catalonia (ARC) kicked off a new campaign to promote the selective collecting of the organic component of municipal waste.

The campaign’s slogan is roughly translated as ‘If organic waste goes in the right bin, that’s good! If it doesn’t, it doesn’t get moved’ and it heads four new ads. Each has as a goal to raise awareness of the importance of recycling organic waste.

The campaign disposes of ARC’s budget of close to 1.3 million euros.

The amount of organic waste that was selectively collected in 2017 represents some 30% of the total organic waste produced and some 10% of the total municipal waste generated.

Regards the amount of selective organic collection, some 385,786 tons were gathered, some 2% more than in 2016.
