False alarm at Barcelona airport after police found a grenade-shaped lighter inside a parcel in the Correus postal service area, as reported by the Spanish Guàrdia Civil police to the Catalan News Agency (ACN) on Wednesday.

The package was found around midday when law enforcement agents saw the shaped object through a scanner control.

Police activated the explosive protocols, which included getting in touch with the explosive disposal group.

Once the package was opened, they confirmed it was a grenade-shaped lighter, taking around 20 minutes to rule out the explosive element and solve the incident.
