Europe authorizes vaccinations against lumpy skin disease in 22 Catalan counties
Agriculture department says it will continue carrying out sanitary evacuations where there is “high circulation” of virus

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food has received the approval of the European Commission to vaccinate against lumpy skin disease (LSD) in 22 Catalan counties.
This was stated by the Director General of the department, Rosa Altisent, after the working meeting of the scientific committee held this Tuesday.
This means, as Altisent explained, that animals are immunized “even if there is no outbreak” and that there will only be three “delimited areas.”
The director general stated that sanitary evacuations will continue to be carried out as long as there is “high circulation” of the virus.
In this sense, she described as “good news” that no new cases have been detected since October 24.
