Discounts on public transport tickets to be kept for 2026
Prices of T-Jove and T-Usual to stay 50% reduced after deal between Socialists and Comuns

The Catalan government and partners Comuns have agreed to maintain public transport discounts in 2026.
The price of the T-Jove and T-Usual will keep its 50% discount, and "in principle," the Catalan and Spanish governments will take on the costs of the discounts.
This was announced by the leader of the left-wing Comuns, Jéssica Albiach, at a press conference at the government headquarters after meeting with the territory minister, Sílvia Paneque.
Albiach assured that the reduction will be "compatible" with the €60 monthly public transport ticket announced on Monday by Pedro Sánchez.
Maintaining the discounts will mean "a very important saving" for families at a time when the cost of living is "suffocating thousands of households," the Comuns leader said.
Monthly pass announced by Sánchez
On Monday, Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez announced announced that the government will launch a €60 monthly public transport ticket covering Rodalies commuter trains, medium-distance trains, and the bus network. The ticket will be valid nationwide and will come into effect on January 15.
The government announced that the fees will be €60 per person, with those under 26 years, paying €30.
"The way we understand and use public transport will change forever," Sánchez said on Monday during his year-end press conference at Moncloa, the government's headquarters.
