Dani Alves' mother shares pictures and name of accuser
Alleged victim will file complaint against former footballer's mother for revealing her identity
The mother of former Barcelona footballer Dani Alves has released pictures and the name of the woman who accused her son of rape in a Barcelona nightclub just over a year ago.
Alves' mother posted images on social media of the woman, taken from her and her friends' social media, as well as her name.
According to El Periódico, the woman accusing Alves will file a complaint against the player's mother, as the Barcelona court investigating the case asked all parties to protect her image and identity.
The private prosecutor and the public prosecutor could also file a complaint against Alves' mother.
Alves, who has been in preventive detention since January 2023, faces a 12-year prison sentence for rape with penetration, according to the private prosecutor's request.
The footballer has always claimed his innocence, first denying knowing the woman, then claiming she sexually assaulted him, and finally saying it was a consensual relationship.
The trial will be held in a Barcelona court from February 5 to 7, 2024.
