The leader of the opposition in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas, is calling the Spanish president to act in Catalonia before "misfortune" happens.

On Friday, she said that the Catalan leader, Quim Torra, is "threatening" with the so-called Slovenian way to independence, which her unionist Ciutadans party deems as violent.

"Torra is calling to the path of war," she claimed in reference to the Balkan country, but also of recent remarks by the president encouraging pro-independence demonstrators to continue protesting.

For Arrimadas, both the Spanish and the Catalan executives are "abandoning" Catalans.

She made these remarks to the press outside the Spanish high court in Catalonia, where she and other Ciutadans officials filed a criminal lawsuit against the Catalan parliament speaker, Roger Torrent, and other chamber bureau members.
