Salvador Illa to return gradually to presidential duties from Monday after month-long illness
Catalan president says he is coming back "with energy, determination and enthusiasm"

President Salvador Illa will return to work on Monday, February 16, following
nearly a month on medical leave recovering from illness.
Illa will resume duties gradually after regaining full mobility.
According to his medical team, Illa is "recovering very well" and is continuing antibiotic treatment under the supervision of doctors at Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
"He has fully regained mobility, allowing a gradual return to his presidential duties," the hospital said.
Announcing his return, Illa posted on X that he is coming back "with energy, determination and enthusiasm."
In his post, Illa also expressed his gratitude to the staff at Vall d'Hebron for their "professionalism, dedication and humanity."
"Our public health system is a collective pride," he added, also thanking everyone "for the warm support and encouragement" he has received.
Although ministers say they have kept the president informed of major issues – which have included the Rodalies rail network crisis, as well as storms and strikes – Illa has been on medical leave since January 17, when he was admitted to the hospital.
He was diagnosed with pubic osteomyelitis caused by a bacterial infection and spent several days in the Intensive Care Unit.
Illa remained hospitalised for two weeks before returning home to continue his recovery and rehabilitation.
