Junts general secretary admitted to hospital after heart attack

The general secretary of pro-independence political party Junts per Catalunya, Jordi Turull, has been admitted to hospital after suffering heart failure.
Doctors at Hospital de Bellvitge are providing medical assistance to the politician.
Turull, 57 years old, has been secretary general of Junts since June 2022.
After he acted as spokesperson for the Catalan government under Carles Puigdemont, Turull was imprisoned for his role in the 2017 independence push, before eventually being pardoned by Pedro Sánchez's Socialist executive in June 2021.
