As a group of British MPs prepared to visit some of the Catalan political leaders in prison on Tuesday, the daughter of one of them this week addressed the United Nations to condemn "the political persecution" of the defenders "of the right to self-determination" in Catalonia.

Anna Forn, the daughter of imprisoned former interior minister, Joaquim Forn, was in Geneva on Monday taking part in a debate in the United Nations Human Rights Council. According to Forn, her father and eight other "social and political leaders" have been unfairly treated.
