'Etern 2018' by Acústic Celler was named Best Catalan Wine 2023 at the 11th Wine Awards (Premis Vinari) in Vilafranca del Penedès on Friday.
'Corral Cremat 2012' by Albet i Noya won Best Catalan Sparkling Wine.
'Etern 2018' is from the Priorat DOQ wine region while 'Corral Cremat 2012' is a Clàssic Penedès.
DO Cava (82 medals and 5 golds), DO Empordà (34 medals), DO Terra Alta (33 medals), and DO Penedès (29 medals) were the big winners at the Casal Theater.
Vinyes Domènech won the award for Best Organic Project, Castell d'Or won the prize for Best Winery in Catalonia, and Josep Maria Puiggròs, founding partner of the Catalan Institute of Agricultural Studies (ICEA), received the professional career award.
For those who want to treat themselves, the prize-winning wines retail at €46.50 for a bottle of 'Etern 2018' and €59 for a bottle of 'Corral Cremat 2012'.
