Barcelona Cathedral has completed its stained glass restoration and works to open a new viewpoint on its terraces, which now are open to visitors to enjoy a 360º view of the Catalan capital.

The construction works, which cost €2.5 million and were paid for by the Catalan and Spanish governments, have also allowed the launch of a digital version of the building's archive. Now, 933 documents and 179,971 pages from the oldest archive will be available for research online.

The cathedral's different stained glass windows are the largest and most well-preserved in Catalonia from the 14th and 15th centuries. In total, 12 different glasses with 230 square meters have been dismantled, repaired, and returned to their original color.

The terraces are now a new viewpoint in the Catalan capital, and the works have impacted 2,002 square meters of ceramics. These were also needed to be prepared for leaks and to avoid any issues with the cloister or church's ceilings.

The Cathedral has also recovered the original floor tiles and improved access to the terraces with new stairs, handrails, and an updated lift.
