The Sónar music festival presents new names on its 20th anniversary
The Barcelona-born electronic and advanced music festival, which has become one of the world’s top events in its category, has unveiled part of its programme. The Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, Darkstar, Two Door Cinema Club and Karenn are some of the artists included in Barcelona’s Sónar Festival, which will run in the Catalan capital between the 13th and 15th of June.
Barcelona (ACN).- As every year at around this time, Barcelona’s Sónar music festival is unveiling part of its programme for its next event, to be celebrated in the Catalan capital between the 13th and 15th of June. The Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, Darkstar, Two Door Cinema Club and Karenn are some of the artists included in this year’s festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In these two decades, the Barcelona-born electronic and advanced music festival has become one of the world’s top events in its category. Furthermore, the Sónar has replicas in other cities throughout the world, including London, Chicago, Sáo Paulo, Cape Town, Tokyo, Oporto and A Coruña.
Next to some of the most classic and recognised names, the Sónar also presents artists with interesting trajectories and projects. One of them is the British trio Darkstar, who have come out of the ‘dubstep’ style played at a low revolution. Another interesting incorporation is the artistic couple Karenn, which unites two masters of raw techno music Blawan and Pariah.
Therefore the main artists that are currently confirmed for the Sónar Festival’s next event are: Darkstar, Paul Kalbrenner, Liars, Nicolas Jaar, Sherwood + Pinch, Delorean, Gold Panda, La Bien Querida, Baauer, Mykki Blanco, Karenn (Blawan + Pariah), Kraftwerk (3D show), the Pet Shop Boys, Two Door Cinema Club, Lindstrøm & Todd Terje and Vatican Shadow.
