The Sagrada Família will give away 500 pairs of tickets for its traditional Christmas concert that takes place on December 16.

Every year, the Barcelona basilica designed by Antoni Gaudí hosts its annual Christmas concert filled with traditional songs and Christmas carols to raise the holiday spirit in the Catalan capital. This year’s concert takes place on Friday December 16 at 7.30pm.

The concert will feature the Vallès Symphony Orchestra and Bruckner Barcelona Choir, who will perform a section of traditional Christmas carols from all over the world, directed by Xavier Puig.

The Sagrada Família will give out 500 pairs of tickets to the concert, which can be won by signing up for the online promotion available from December 2 until December 12 at 10am.

The winners will be decided by a draw on December 12 right after the online promotion closes and will get notified by email in the following days.

After the concert, the first two Evangelist towers of the Sagrada Famïlia will be illuminated for the first time after their construction finished last Tuesday, bringing the basilica that has been in the making for 140 years one step closer to completion. The lights on the towers’ pinnacles dedicated to the figures of Luke and Mark will remain until January 8.

The concert and illumination are part of a wide range of Christmas related activities taking place in the Sagrada Família. Other events include children’s caroling at the nativity façade on December 20, children’s Christmas workshops, and midnight mass on Christmas Eve.
