Primavera Sound sets new attendance record with 293,000 festivalgoers
Barcelona's largest music festival sees 65% of attendees coming from abroad to enjoy headliners such as Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan

A new record for Barcelona's largest music festival. The 2025 edition of Primavera Sound welcomed around 293,000 people, most of them, 65%, coming from overseas.
Festival organizers announced the historic figure on Saturday afternoon, just a few hours before the last concerts at the Parc del Fòrum venue. The figure includes those attending the major nights at the open-air venue, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and attendees to the free-opening night on Wednesday. Attendees at Primavera a la Ciutat events are also counted.
"We are a music festival, we like music, and we like to talk about music," Marta Pallares, head of institutional relations at Primavera Sound, told journalists during a wrap press conference on Saturday afternoon.

Organizers have said an "unprecedented" thing happened. While in the past, there were fewer attendees on Thursday. Then it used to "go in crescendo." This year, the public was divided and showed their love to the three headliners, "The Powerpuff Girls," or the 'Trinity' as Charli XCX refers to the trio formed by Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and herself.
Around 71,000 people have attended the event at the Parc del Fòrum every day.
Thousands traveled to see the main headliners perform at the main stages, Estrella Damm and Revolut. On Thursday, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan presented their 'Sweat Tour,' a first in Europe. Sabrina Carpenter took to the stage on Friday to delight her long-time and newest fans. Meanwhile, followers of Chappell Roan had to wait until the last day to see her.

"Exceptional things happened at Primavera Sound," Pallares said about having the three artists perform at the event.
The "record edition" also saw around 20,000 people attend the Primavera a la Ciutat events, which started on Monday. And around 30,000 during the opening day on Wednesday, and around 30,000 more on Sunday, to put an end to the festival with the Primavera Bits x Nitsa.

65% international audience
Most Primavera Sound attendees came from abroad, as organizers state that 65% of festivalgoers traveled from outside Spain.
Overall, attendees came from 136 countries, with the United Kingdom leading, followed by the United States and Italy.
"Something that surprises and makes us very happy is that the United States is the second country in number of attendees at the festival, something that makes us happy as it is a very far away country," Marta Pallares said.

Based on the figures, organizers say that "Primavera Sound is among the three main international music festivals, as it is a competitive festival, and we have been told that our ratio is €1 per artist," she added.
This year's edition included primarily European travelers and, for the first time, 13 nationalities that had not previously visited Primavera Sound.
Meanwhile, 25% of the attendees are based in Barcelona, around 80,000 people.

Organizers said that 224 concerts had been held in the Parc del Fòrum venue, and 311 were scheduled, including the other events across the week. There were also 900 journalists registered to report on the festival.
Primavera Sound in Barcelona will return between June 4 and 6 next year.
